Join us for worship on Sunday mornings at 11:00 in Wait Chapel on the Wake Forest Campus. You’ll find progressive theology, thoughtful worship, and friendly people.

All are welcome, no exceptions.

What does your church believe? Wake Forest Baptist Church honors a wide range of perspectives about Scripture and the nature of God. We embody and embrace historic Baptist principles. We have an inclusive membership, we are accepting of all faith traditions. The Communion Table is open to all.

Do you take communion each Sunday? We receive communion on the first Sunday of each month, usually by intinction, receiving the bread, then dipping it in the wine (grape juice).

What should I wear to church on Sunday? Whatever you like. You will encounter people in both dress clothes and blue jeans.

When should I arrive? Worship begins sharply at 11 am. Parking is available in the Chapel parking lot, and is reserved for WFBC attendees on Sunday mornings. You are also welcome to attend Sunday school at 10:00 am.

What can I expect on my first visit? You can expect that you will be greeted during the Passing of the Peace time. We follow the narrative lectionary and the liturgical calendar, so you will notice a rich appreciation for church tradition at WFBC. Our services are generally quiet, reverent and contemplative, but there is an informal, casual feel created by the dynamic of the congregation.

What is this week’s message? Pastor Lia Scholl preaches most Sundays at WFBC. You can see this week’s bulletin here.

Where do I take my children? We offer childcare during worship for babies and toddlers. Our childcare room is located in Room 107 of Wingate Hall, which is located in the behind the chapel. An usher will be happy to accompany you to the childcare room on your first visit! Our young children remain in worship until after the offertory response, then can be retrieved after final hymn. The worship hour is dedicated to playtime.

What kind of spiritual formation opportunities do you offer? We offer Sunday school classes on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. A Godly Play lesson is offered for children during this time.

Does your church have any affiliations? Yes. We are a founding congregation of the Alliance of Baptists and partner with many local organizations for social justice.  You can see our listed affiliations here.
