Letter from Pastor Lia on Advocacy Day for North Carolina Teachers

Good morning, friends!

Today, teachers (and those who love them!) from across North Carolina will gather in Raleigh to advocate on behalf of our public schools, the teachers and staff who serve in them, and the students whom they serve.

The North Carolina Council of Churches suggests some ways that we can support our teachers:

1) Write to teachers you already know showing your support for education, and for their right to advocate for themselves today and every day.

2) Write an op-ed affirming this day of advocacy.

3) Pray for this event, for all those participating. Pray for teachers and students who gather in classrooms every day. Pray for our leaders who make decisions about our schools.

You can find out more information at https://ncchurches.org, which has even more ideas on how to support public education in North Carolina.

I love you and I love being your pastor!

Warmly,

Lia
